Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°
Mix shortening, butter, sugar, and salt in mixer. Add hot water and baking soda. Add 1 c. rolled oats and 1 c. flour. Mix in remaining oats and flour with wooden spoon. Roll out on floured surface about 1/8″ thick. Cut into squares or rounds. Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes until very slightly brown.
